MORNING WORSHIP AND MUSIC
The life of our congregation is centered around the worship of our Holy Triune God. We believe that corporate worship should be God-centered and God-glorifying, in Spirit and truth, exalting the name of Jesus Christ as Lord of all. We sing praise to God in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. We read the Word of God out loud. We recite the Apostles’ Creed and have readings from our Westminster Confession of Faith. At the heart of our worship is the the teaching and preaching of God’s Word: the Bible, declaring the whole counsel of God’s Word as illumined by the gospel of the cross of Christ and his resurrection and ascension. We have one worship service at 11 a.m. and it is characterized by reverence, order, joyful congregational singing, passionate preaching, and warm fellowship.
The Lord’s Supper is served five times a year. Although our morning worship service would be called formal or traditional, we do blend elements of contemporary worship songs with the older Bible Songs and hymns from the Trinity Hymnal. We also utilize the natural and spiritual gifts of individuals leading us in worship.
We are blessed with choir members who show their dedication to Lauderdale and the Lord by serving as reliable spiritual leaders in other important areas of service. New voices are always welcome to join this important ministry. Choir practices are held on Wednesday evenings from 5:00 to 6:00 and many of the choir members stay on for the weekly prayer meeting at 6 p.m.
