Lauderdale, like other churches in the area, has an active outreach to the incoming students, known as “rats,” at Virginia Military Institute. This ministry is greatly aided by the hospitality of church elder Chuck Conner (VMI 1976) and his wife, Patsy. Any VMI student desiring transportation to church, along with a meal after the service at the Conner’s farm (schedule permitting), is welcome and encouraged to come. Also, Pastor Ben is one of several local ministers who participate in a campus ministry called “Stand for an Answer” at which cadets can pose any faith-related questions that they have.
We provide a ride, a meal, and an open conversation on any faith related questions you might have.
Our Aim
We try to make a difference at the community level, and at the heart of Lexington, are its two universities. We hope to make a difference in student's lives and help those who need it most.
